The PCHS Girls Varsity Team hosted Martinsville Friday, December 9, cruising to a 61-31 win. The Lady Cougars jumped out to a quick lead, going into halftime leading 35-13. Missy Hazard had 18 points, 7 assists, 6 steals, and 6 rebounds for Patrick County.
Lilli Cobbler put up 12 for the Lady Cougars along with 1 steal and 5 rebounds. Aniya Penn had 11 points, 2 steals, and 8 rebounds. Allanah Mitchell had 10 points, 2 assists, 7 steals, and 3 rebounds.
Coach Donnie Rakes said, “It was a good team win for our young squad. We played really good team defense that created a lot of scoring opportunities. I’m proud of our effort and hustle against a really athletic Martinsville team.”
The Lady Cougars are 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in the Piedmont District.
