Grace Avance Plaster becomes U.S. citizen

Grace Avance Plaster of Patrick Springs recently became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America.
The certificate presentation for Grace and 29 others from 18 different countries was held at Red Hill Patrick Henry National Memorial. Red Hill, a plantation of nearly 3,000 acres, was Patrick Henry’s last home and also his burial place.
The Hon. Norman K. Moon, district judge, administered the oath. The Hon. T. Scott Garrett, M.C., a 23rd District member of the Virginia House of Delegates, was the keynote speaker.
Patrick Henry Jolly, fifth great-grandson of Patrick Henry, presented a dramatic speech on immigration. Special music and flags were presented by local high schools.
Grace is the daughter of Gil and Selena Avance of Sagay City, Philippines. She has a brother and three sisters.
Grace arrived in America on June 26, 2007 to marry Jason R. Plaster. They have three daughters, Angel and twins Destiny and Trinity.
Grace completed registered nurse requirements since arriving, and she already had a degree from the Philippines. She is employed by Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
Jason, son of Philip and Faye Plaster, is employed by Goodyear of Danville.
Grace and Jason attend the Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.
