Grand jurors handed down 41 indictments

More than 20 people were named in indictments handed down by grand jurors seated in Patrick County on Monday, March 4, according to records in the Patrick County Circuit Court Clerk’s office.


An indictment is not an indication of guilt, but rather a grand jury’s finding that evidence exists to warrant a trial.

Those indicted were:

John Thomas Conner, of Meadows of Dan, one count each grand larceny of a vehicle, felony damage/destroy property, in connection with September 2018 incident.

Lisa Carol Hardy, of Stuart, possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, in connection with a July 2018 incident.

Timothy Dale Plasters, of Patrick Springs, one count each possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, possession of a machine gun, in connection with August 2018 incident.

Eric William Walker, of Stuart, threaten to burn, in connection with October 2018 incident.

Nicole C. Fissette, of Stuart, four counts each child endangerment; one count hit and run, in connection with an August 2018 incident.

Joshua Daniel Perdue, of Stuart, three counts abduction, in connection with a September 2018 incident.

James Morris Adkins, of Bassett, one count each larceny of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in connection with a July 2018 incident.

Daniel John Wilson, of Cana, larceny of a firearm in connection with a September 2018 incident.

Brandon Ortega Reid, of Stuart, malicious wounding in connection with an October 2018 incident.

James Matthew Williams, of Bassett, petty larceny, third or subsequent offense, in connection with October 2018 incident.

Grant Matthew Alderman, of Martinsville, obtain money by false pretense in connection with a September 2018 incident.

James Charles Anderson, of Claudville, one count each possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with a December 2018 incident.

Harley Wayne Bocock, of Stuart, possession of Schedule I or II controlled substance in connection with May 2018 incident.

Michael Lane Craig, of Bassett, violation of home Electronic Incarceration Program in connection with a February incident.

Justin M. Hairston, of Bassett, one count each drive while intoxicated, first offense; reckless driving in connection with a June 2018 incident.

Roger Brandon Ivey, of Stuart, one count each statutory burglary, grand larceny in connection with an October 2018 incident.

Kevin Allen Kerney, of Denton, N.C., one count each extortion, obtain money by false pretense, harassment by computer in connection with October 2018 incident.

Corey Christopher Stephens, of Martinsville, two counts attempt to commit capital murder on a law enforcement officer, one count threaten to bomb/burn in connection with January incident.

Michaela Jae Barnard Wester, of Stuart, child abuse in connection with January 2016 incident.

Erik Derelle Farris, address not listed, failure to appear for a felony offense in connection with an August 2014 incident.

Christopher Mack Johnston, of Stuart, one count each credit card theft, obtain money by false pretenses, grand larceny in connection with October 2018 incident.

Santana Maria Orozco, of Cana, failure to appear on a felony offense in connection with a May 2018 incident.
