obit Hubbard, HarlieHarlie Elton Hubbard, age 86, of Meadows of Dan, died February 26, 2016, at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart.
He was born in Patrick County on May 12, 1929, and was a son of the late Walter Hubbard and Elizabeth Agee Hubbard. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clayton, Wayne and Ernest Hubbard.
He was a member of Conners’ View Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, Ruth Conner Hubbard of the home; five daughters, Carolyn Bryant and family friend John Halsey of Stuart, Linda and Paul Nester of Laurel Fork, Betty Garland of Winder, Ga., Susan Hubbard of Galax, and Kathryn and Kent Epperson of Ararat; one son, David Hubbard and fiancée Debbie Hall of Meadows of Dan; three sisters, Janie and Troy Brammer of Collinsville, India Williams of Stuart and Essie and Garland Hughes of Stuart; one brother, Melvin and Iola Hubbard of Meadows of Dan; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, 2 stepgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Conners’ View Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
