Helen Margie East Hill, age 84, of Stuart, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at her home.
She was born in Patrick County and was a daughter of the late Henry Clay East and Nannie Moorfield East. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Joseph Hill; a sister, Lelia Mae Blackard; and three brothers, Akers, Elmer, and Thomas East.
She was a 1949 graduate of Stuart High School and had retired from the Virginia Department of Health.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Joseph Hill of the home; one daughter, Nanette Petersen of Stuart; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hill of Stuart; four grandchildren, Heidi Hill Foster and husband Chad, Heather Hill and fiancé Jonathon Butcher, William Petersen, and Joseph Petersen; two great-grandchildren, Raylan Michael Foster and Josie Mae Foster; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 8, at 6 p.m. at Collinstown Presbyterian Church. Burial will be private.
