Hunter’s safety class offered

A Hunter’s Safety class will be offered Sat., Sept. 9, beginning at 8 a.m., in the Meadows of Dan Community Building.

There is no charge for the class, but pre-registration is required.

To register online, visit vgif.virginia.gov/hunting/ then click on Find a hunter education class. Click on Basic Hunter Education Course; click on Find and Register on a class near you, then enter your zip code and scroll down until you find Basic Hunter Education Course, September 9, Meadows of Dan Community Building. Click on Register Now, complete informational form and then submit the form.

Books for the course may be downloaded, or are available free at the Meadows of Dan Food market.

There is no age limit, according to James Henningsen, who is helping to organize the class.

Lunch will be served during the day-long event, and participants who complete the class will receive a Hunter’s Safety Certification.
