John Reynolds accepts donation from Colonel Abram Penn Chapter members Ann McConnell, Regent and Treasurer Julie Brannon.

The Colonel Abram Penn Chapter NSDAR conducted its regular monthly meeting March 9 at which time John Reynolds, president of the Patrick County Historical Society and Museum, presented a program on the history and restoration efforts at Indian Knob School.

The building is considered to be the oldest African American schoolhouse in Patrick County. Mr. William Hines, who attended the school, also took part in the discussion. The chapter presented a check to Mr. Reynolds to be used for the restoration of the schoolhouse.
