Mrs. Iva Roberta Hatcher Adams, age 86 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 in Collinsville at the home of her daughter. She was born in Patrick County on Sept. 26, 1932 to the late Thomas Hatcher and Molly Hylton Hatcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Curtis Adams; three sisters, Elizabeth “Dib” Hatcher, Estelle Barnes, Eleanor Turner; and three brothers, Moir Hatcher, Irvin Hatcher, and Thomas Wilton Hatcher, Jr.  Mrs. Adams was a member of Woolwine United Methodist Church and attended New Hope Church of the Brethren. She had retired from Bassett Furniture. She loved gardening, flowers, and to cook and made the best red velvet cake and fried apple pies.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Alfred Gravely of Collinsville, Linda and Keith Adams of Martinsville; three grandchildren, Natalie Horne and husband, Louis of Spencer, Tina Woods and husband, Jerry of Stuart, Ashley Mundy and husband, Mark of Bassett; six great grandchildren, Jonathan Shelton, Matthew Shelton, Greyson Horne, William Wood, Jenna Woods, Trista Adams; one sister, Alberta Fain of Woolwine; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 16 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Rick Randall officiating. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
