James “Jimmy” Belton Jr., age 74, of Stuart, died Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.
He was born in Patrick County on May 19, 1942 and was preceded in death by his father, James Belton Sr.
He had retired from DuPont in Martinsville with 35 years of service.
Surviving are his daughter, Allison Belton of Winston-Salem; his mother, Nell Goad Belton of Stuart; one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Peggy Belton of Critz; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol Belton-Vernon and Donald of Stuart; nieces and nephews, Michael Vernon, Keith Vernon and wife Sarah, Mark Vernon and wife Marci, and Cheryl Dillon.
A private graveside service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Patty Hazelwood, Memorial Gift Chairman, 1988 Wayside Road, Stuart, Virginia 24171, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
