James Carson Ayers

Mr. James Carson Ayers, age 83, of Stuart, Virginia passed away on May 8, 2023, at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on March 8, 1940, to the late James Edward Ayers and the late Charlotte Ruth Knight Ayers. Mr. Ayers faithfully served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He drove a dairy milk truck for many years and retired from Shenandoah Pride. James was a member of Peters Creek Baptist Church, was a hard worker, and loved his family dearly. Mr. Ayers will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish the fond memories of James Ayers are his wife, Maybelline Marshall Ayers of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Michele Arnder (Keith) of Stuart, Virginia; two grandchildren, Jarrod Arnder (Katherine) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Christian Arnder of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one great-grandchild, Lydia Arnder; one sister, Carol Kapp of Rural Hall, North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service for Mr. James Ayers will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Peters Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Terry Ragsdale officiating. The burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday afternoon. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is serving the Ayers family, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.

The family of Mr. James Ayers would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart for all of their acts of kindness, care, and love shown to James during his stay.
