Janet Virginia Hopkins passed away at The Landmark Center on Monday, February 8, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. Janet was born in Stuart, Virginia, on September 23, 1943, to the late Lloyd W. and Gladys Martin Hopkins. Janet graduated from Stuart High School and Averett College. She worked many years at R. J. Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

Janet was an avid reader, lover of wildlife and spending time working in her garden. She spent most of her life feeding the Patrick County birds and could identify almost all of them by sight and song. Janet was a loving daughter and cared for her mother Gladys for many years. Janet is survived by her brother, Martin Hopkins, and his wife Barbara of Danville, Virginia.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.

The family would like to express gratitude to the staffs at The Landmark Center and Mountain Valley Hospice for their kindness and exceptional care during Janet’s illness.

If you wish, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in Janet’s memory.
