Mr. Jim Allen Lawson, age 76 of Claudville, passed away on January 8, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on April 7, 1948, to the late Jesse Allen Lawson and Rachel Beasley Lawson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by one brother, Bennie Lawson; and two sisters, Patsy Willard and Evelean Gammons; his former wife, Laverne Light Lawson. Jim was a brick mason for many years. He loved to coon hunt, fish, and relax on the creek bank. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed.

Mr. Lawson is survived by three daughters, Deborah Lynn Vipperman, Angela Dawn Vipperman, and Kristie Leigh Church (Kenny); five grandchildren, Ashley Vipperman, Haley Crocker (Brent), Brandon Church (Leah), Breanna Church, and Tyler Vipperman; one great-grandson, Brent Junior; one step-great-granddaughter, Kimmie Walker; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Jimmy Willard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
