Mr. “Jim” Claude Foley, age 84 of Stuart, Virginia passed away at his home on Sunday, September 8, 2019. He was born in Patrick County on August 17, 1935, to the late John Roosevelt Foley and Irene Lucy Massey Foley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Ann Foley; and two brothers, Lester Foley and Loyd Foley. Jim truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Mr. Foley is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nellie Lawson Foley of the home; one son, Jimmy Foley of Stuart; two grandchildren, Tabitha Foley and Jody Foley and wife, Yvvette; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Raymond, and Hunter; one brother, James Foley of Bassett; seven sisters, Madge Bryant of Rocky Mount, Christine Elgin of Woolwine, Crystal Scott of Bassett, Margaret Burnette of Martinsville, Erma Jean Puckett of Stuart, Bonnie Stanfield of Collinsville, and Violet Spraker of Rocky Mount; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Foley were held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Greg Martin and Pastor Tommy Bailey officiating. He was laid to rest in the Lawson Family Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
