John Donald Stanley, 80, of Ridgeway, died on Sunday, August 14, 2016.
He was born on November 22, 1935, and was a son of the late Samuel Edward Stanley Sr. and Verna Harris Stanley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Valerie Bull Stanley; and a brother, Samuel Edward Stanley Jr.
He served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and was awarded the Bronze Star in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his sons, Wayne John Stanley of Snow Creek, and Carl Donald Stanley of Spencer; sisters, Joan Stanley Eanes of Critz and Sonja Stanley Rodgers of Ridgeway; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway with Pastor Richard Motley officiating.
