John David ‘Dave’ Eychaner, age 83, of Patrick Springs, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022. Dave was born in Denver, CO to Ora Riesland and John Orville Eychaner. He was married to his first wife, Nancy Sue Shoop, in 1964.  His parents and first wife preceded him in death.

He graduated from high school in Buffalo, WY before enlisting in the Navy. Upon leaving the service he attended Casper Community College and then graduated with the Master of Business degree from the University of Wyoming. Dave retired from teaching at Patrick & Henry Community College. An accomplished woodworker, avid outdoorsman and enthusiastic traveler, Dave, with his wife Robbie Jean Eychaner, traveled across most of the Western states and Alaska.

Dave is survived by his wife of 34 years, Robbie Jean Blackburn; children Dovie Ann Blankenship and spouse Ricky; Paul David Eychaner and spouse Bozena; Frank Floyd Eychaner and spouse Karen; Glenn David Blackburn and wife Stephanie; Kevin Harold Blackburn and partner Vicky Violante and her children Michael, Jason and Kellie; as well as grandchildren Stephanie Ciarlone and spouse Geoff, Jennifer Hitt and spouse Justin, David Eychaner, Melanie Eychaner, John Eychaner, Mallory Blackburn, Fletcher Blackburn, and great grandchildren Hudson and Grayson.

There will be a celebration of life ceremony at Pleasant View Baptist Church: 4432 Pleasant View Dr., Patrick Springs VA, at 4:00 pm on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, with Rev. Rick Anderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send gifts to Patrick County Alzheimer’s Group LLC; Buena Vista Dr. Stuart, VA 276-698-2901. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
