John Junior Lawson, age 95, passed away Thursday July 30, 2020 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart, Va. He was born in the Five Forks section of Patrick County to the late John Jackson Lawson and Lucy Conway Lawson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Hazel Martin Lawson.

He was a devoted husband and father. He was a founding and lifelong member of Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as deacon.

He started his own small trucking business in the early 50’s, which is still in operation.

Survivors are his sons Danny and wife Emma and Steve and wife Vicki. Also, a special friend Ruth Cassady.

He was preceded in death by brothers Cecil A. Lawson, Edgar A. Lawson, and James H. Lawson and sisters, Winifred Byerly and Etta Cooper.

Special thanks to caretakers: Scott Spencer at Blue Ridge Therapy and Annie Brown, who cared for both John and “Rascal”. A private family graveside service will be held.
