Jonathan Trewayne Clanton, age 37, of Martinsville, died February 25, 2016, at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville.
He was born in Patrick County on January 24, 1979. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Velva Huff, and his paternal grandfather, John Clanton.
He was a member of New Life in Christ Church.
Surviving are one son, Keveen T. Parris of Bassett; his father, John W. Clanton and his wife Niecy of Fayetteville, N.C., and his mother, Deborah Huff and special friend Earl Akridge of Martinsville; two brothers, Christopher Huff and wife Phyllis of Martinsville, and Stephen Foger of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Lakesha Clanton of Murfreesboro, N.C.; grandmother, Frances Clanton of Critz; six aunts, Carolyn Spencer of Martinsville, Deborah Reynolds and husband, Winston of Ararat, Christine Tatum and husband, Tommy of Critz, Janet Penn and husband, Richard of Patrick Springs, Vicki Clanton of Critz and Mary Allen and husband, Eric of Walkertown, NC; three uncles, Jeffery Huff and wife, Velma of Critz, Roger Clanton and wife, Renee of Critz and James Clanton and wife, Jennifer of Spartanburg, S.C. and two nieces; Skyylar and Phylicity.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. at Mercy Crossing Church with Pastors Von Finney and Jackie Poe officiating.
The wake will begin at 12:30 p.m.
