Patrick County High School’s head football coach Derrick Jones was named head football coach at Hugh M. Cummings High School in Burlington, N.C., last week.

Jones, who spent the last three years as the Cougars’ head coach, compiled a 5-26 record.
According to PCHS Athletic Director Terry Harris, the position of head coach has been advertised. He hopes to start the interview process and name a new coach in the very near future so that football players can get to know the new coach.

Off-season weight lifting for the Cougars started this past week.
