The Patrick County JV Baseball team lost to Halifax 0-10 last Monday.
Garrett Leftwich started on the mound for the Cougars. Leftwich pitched to 22 batters in three innings, striking out four, walking four, and allowing five hits.
Carson Merriman pitched two innings striking out one, walking one, and allowing three hits. Gilbert Hubbard came in to pitch to seven batters striking out none, walking none, and allowing five hits.
At the plate, Hubbard had a double and an RBI. Carson Merriman and Nash Thompson both added a hit. Kase Leftwich also had an RBI.
“We ran into the top echelon of JV Baseball and it showed. We got twelve people on base, but we just couldn’t get the key hits when we needed them,” said Coach Donnie Rakes.
