Middle school baseball team off to good start

The Cougars scored a huge 8-4 win over Halifax Friday, March 22.

Jai Penn and Tucker Swails had two hits and an RBI and Stuart Callahan had two hits and two RBIs. Toby Perkins, Michael Nelson, and Bubba Taylor all added one hit and one RBI a piece.

Braedon Augustine had a hit. Tucker Swails was credited the win on the mound. He pitched five innings with two strike outs, two walks, and allowed 10 hits. Jai Penn pitched two innings to close out the game, striking out three and walking three.

Franklin County got the best of the Cougars winning 10-6, on Wednesday, March 20. Braden Augustine, Tucker Swails, and Jai Penn all took the mound. Tucker Swails, Toby Perkins, and Broc Taylor all got hits in the game.

The Cougars took the win over Fieldale Collinsville 11-4 on Monday, March 18. Martin Sawyers,Tucker Swails, Toby Perkins, Ty Stowe, Jai Penn, and Stuart Callahan all got hits for the Cougars. Toby Perkins and Stuart Callahan pitched for the win.

The Middle School Cougars are now 4-2 on the season.
