The JV Baseball Team hosted North Stokes Monday, March 28, defeating the Vikings 9-4.

Broc Taylor pitched 1 inning giving up no hits.

Easton Harris was on the mound 3 innings, striking out 3, walking three, and allowing 1 hit. Matthew Allen and Avery Brintle contributed on the mound as well. Harris, Allen, Broc Taylor, Brintle, and Chance Corns all had a hit. PC hosted Tunstall Tuesday, getting a close 5-4 win over the Trojans. Hunter Pendleton pitched 6 innings, striking out 8, allowing 6 hits and 4 runs. Lucas Taylor pitched 1 inning, striking out 1. Allen had 2 hits, while Brintle and Broc Taylor had 1 hit each. Allen and Broc Taylor each had 1 RBI. The Cougars traveled to Halifax Friday, April 1, losing 14-1 to the Comets. Lucas Taylor got the start on the mound, striking out 1, walking 1, allowing 5 hits and 8 runs before Broc Taylor went in in relief. He pitched 2.1 innings, striking out 1, walking 2, allowing 5 hits and 3 runs.  Brintle finished the game, pitching 1 inning, allowing 3 hits and 3 runs.  Jessup had 2 hits for the Cougars.

Coach Donnie Rakes said, “the Tunstall game was just a clutch win in a very good baseball game. We really battled hard the last two innings at the plate, scoring 1 in the 6th and 2 in the bottom of the 7th for the win. Really proud of not quitting and showing heart in the last two innings against a really good Tunstall team. Our pitching is really keeping us in games and giving us a chance. Hunter was excellent tonight. The North Stokes game was a Solid win for kids. We had a three-game week, and that stretched the pitching quite a bit. Easton Harris and Avery Brintle really stepped up and did solid jobs. Our young team ran into quite a buzz saw in a superior Halifax County team. They played well and we didn’t to say the least.”

The JV Cougars are 6-1 on the season.
