JV basketball team splits week

The girl’s JV basketball team won at home Monday night against Chatham with a final score of 35 to 9.

Katie Steele’s 9 points led the Cougars, with Samantha Harris and Missy Hazzard adding 7 points each.

Taylor Smith and Lindsey Quesenberry had 5 rebounds each and Tessa Haas led the team in steals with 3.

Coach Ryan Pendleton called the victory another “good defensive night for the team.”

The team lost Tuesday night at Floyd County 40- 23, Harris scored a team high 9 points, Katie Steele added 6 points and Gracelyn Hubbard helped the cause with 5 points.

The JV team is 3-1 for the season.
