JV Lady Cougars Win Thriller at Radford

The Cougars traveled to Radford on Friday, January 9, defeating the Lady Bobcats 39 to 38 in an exciting game.

Leading the Lady Cougars with 20 points, 8 steals, 6 rebounds, and a block was Trinitee Penn. Tiffany Eckrote had 5 points, 1 steal, 3 rebounds and a block. Cassidy Brim had 4 points, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds.

Sarah Lawson made the game winning 3-pointer as well as 3 steals, 6 rebounds, and a block. Alaina McBride had 3 points, 1 steal, and 3 rebounds. Allie Lewis had 2 points, 1 steal, and 3 rebounds. Isabella Martin had 2 points, 1 assist, and 2 rebounds. Shianne Townsend had 2 steals, and 2 rebounds. Bella Clark had 2 rebounds, and Savannah Sanchez and Carrie Gregory had 1 rebound each.

“At one point, we were down by 15 points,” said Coach Grace Helms. “My girls are fighters and push through adversity. The ladies have been battling sickness this week. I am so proud of their effort and grit.”
