The Cougars scored a big 20-12 win over the Magna Vista Lady Warriors on Tuesday, April 23.
Brooke Meade went seven innings in the circle to take the win. The bats were hot all evening for Patrick County. Emily Bryant led the Cougars with five hits and a triple. Meade had four hits and a triple. Tessa Haas had three hits, and Lanie Hopkins, Samantha Harris, Emily Helms, Abby Compton, and Brittany Wood all had two hits.
Shakira Johnson added one hit for the Cougars. Hopkins had two doubles; and Helms, Harris, and Wood had one double each. Meade and Johnson also added a triple for the Cougars.
The Cougars also took a 15-0 win in three innings over Martinsville on Thursday, April 18. Harris took the win in the circle striking out five and walking two. Hopkins, Helms, Wood, and Hannah Howard all had two hits each for the Cougars.
Meade and Harris added a single each. Wood had two doubles, and Howard and Harris each added a double and Hopkins had a triple.
