JV softball takes three wins

The Patrick County JV Softball had a big week, winning all three of their games.


On March 21, the Lady Cougars got a 6-1 win over the Lady Buffaloes of Floyd. Brooke Meade was credited the win in the circle,  striking out eight, walking three, and allowing five hits. Abby Compton had a triple and a single and Emily Helms added two singles.

Samantha Harris is down and ready for the hit.

On Tuesday, March 19, the Lady Cougars traveled to Bassett where they got the win over the Lady Bengals, 19-2. Samantha Harris was the winning pitcher, striking out nine, walking none, and allowing four hits.

Lainie Hopkins had a triple and two singles, Samantha Harris had three singles and a double, Shakira Johnson had a double and a single, and Madison Greer added three singles.

The Lady Cougars beat Grayson County 13-12, at home, on Monday, March 18.

Lainie Hopkins got the win in the circle with five strike outs and eight walks. Brooke Meade led the Cougars at the plate with four singles and one double. Emily Bryant and Lainie Hopkins both added two singles and one double each.
