The Bear Den of Cub Scout Pack 69 recently enjoyed one of the warmer days this year and helped keep Patrick County clean and green with a county clean-up project. The group of boys, along with several parents, helped beautify the picnic area near the Mayo River Rail Trail. They picked up numerous sticks, branches and whole tree limbs and also learned about composting, energy conservation and endangered species. The scouts also were presented with a certificate from the Governor’s office for their efforts. Pictured are Cub Scout Pack 69 members (students from Patrick Springs Elementary and Stuart Elementary) Hunter Heath, Xavier Torres, Hody Jones, Owen Nutter, Gavin Fain, Chance Corns, Mark Day, Kieran Rodriguez and Josiah Spangler.
