Timothy Keith of Ararat has donated a selection of his work to Caring Hearts Clinic of Patrick County.
Keith got his start in painting as a client in the Horizons program in Patrick County. An extension of Piedmont Community Services, Horizons is a day service that works with clients as they develop better social skills to live within the community and have the best quality of life possible.
“The folks at Horizons took us on a trip to the Piedmont Art Show in Martinsville, and I thought painting was something I would like to try,” said Keith. The opportunity led to a year and a half of work with photography, watercolors, acrylics and oils. Keith credits Anita Prutting and Charlotte Davis for providing this opportunity.
His work has been shown at the Reynolds Homestead and Honduras Coffee Shop. Several pieces are currently on display at the Claudville Café. “I really wanted to give back to Caring Hearts Free Clinic; they have been an important part of my healthcare,” Keith said.
Keith’s painting will be part of the clinic’s fund-raising efforts held during the year. Caring Hearts Free Clinic has been serving the medically uninsured low-income citizens in Patrick County since 2004.
