The Patrick County High School Lady Cougar soccer team scrimmaged Floyd County last Tuesday night at home. The Lady Cougars lost the contest 5-0.
“We started out a little slow in the first half but played much better in the second. We saw some things that we still need to work on as a team, but that’s what a scrimmage is for. All in all, I thought the girls played well,” Rakes said.
The Lady Cougars competed in three 40-minute scrimmages in the Bengal Bash at the Smith River Sports Complex Saturday. They lost the first game to Dan River 1-0. Carroll County defeated the Lady Cougars 4-0 in the second game and PC lost to George Washington of Danville 6-0 in the final scrimmage of the day.
The Lady Cougars traveled to Bassett yesterday (Tuesday) and will host GW of Danville Thursday. The JV game starts at 5:30 with the varsity game following at 7 p.m.
