On Thursday, the Patrick County Lady Cougars traveled to Magna Vista and lost 4-5.

Danielle King and Erin Keith led the Lady Cougars with two singles. Abigail Epperson, Mackenzie Belcher, Gracelyn Hubbard, and Jenna King all recorded hits for the Lady Cougars.

Katherine Beckett took the loss for the Cougars with a line of two strike outs, one walk, and eight hits.

On Tuesday, April 9, the team hosted Franklin County and won 3-0.

It was a good pitchers and defensive game through the innings.

In the bottom of the fifth, Jordan Haas lead off the inning, with two strikes, hitting one to the left center fence.

Jenna King was next up. She laid down a bunt, and reached first as defense tried to get Haas at third.  Both runners were safe and Montana Moorefield was up to the plate.

On the first pitch to Moorefield, King stole second and Haas went home on the throw.

Both runners were safe and put one run on the board. King, was on second when Moorefield laid down a bunt and reached first as King was safe on third.

Moorefield took second and King scored on the throw. Two batters later, Erin Keith took a walk. King took the first pitch to the right centerfield fence. Moorefield scored, and Keith was at third.

The Lady Eagles turned a double play later to end the inning.

Katherine Beckett and the Lady Cougar defense shut down the Lady Eagles in the sixth and the seventh innings to finish the game.

Beckett threw all seven innings. She recorded four strike outs, one walk, and two hits.

Jenna King slap bunts for a single.
