Lady Cougar tennis team loses two

The Lady Cougars took on the Lady Bengals of Bassett on April 15. Patrick County was defeated 5-1 in the singles category.

Jessica Beam defeated Madison Wright 8-0, Carlee Cockram defeated Emily Wood 8-1, and Megan Scott defeated Caroline Vernon 8-2,

Cara Helbert defeated Kaylee Stanley 8-1, Elleigh Large defeated Abi Craig by forfeit, and Riya Hall defeated Joelle Holderman 8-3.

Bassett defeated Patrick County 3-0 in doubles. Jessica Beam and Megan Scott defeated Madison Wright and Emily Wood 8-0, Carlee Cockram and Cara Helbert defeated Caroline Vernon and Elleigh Large 8-1, and Abi Craig and Riya Hall defeated Joelle Holderman and Skye Mitchell 8-1.

The Cougars also lost their match against the Lady Eagles of Franklin County on April 10.

In the singles category, Bethany Graham defeated Madison Wright 8-1, McKinleigh Williams defeated Emily Wood 8-1, Jaedyn Jaminson defeated Caroline Vernon 8-0, Jocelyn Routt defeated Kaylee Stanley 8-0, Peyton Jones defeated Elleigh Large 8-0, and Rachel Pasley defeated Joelle Holderman 8-2.

Franklin defeated Patrick County 3-0 in doubles.

Bethany Graham and Jaedyn Jaminson defeated Madison Wright and Emily Wood 8-4, McKinleigh Williams and Jocelyn Routt defeated Caroline Vernon and Elleigh Large 8-1, and Katie Rutrough and Peyton Jones defeated Joelle Holderman and Skye Mitchell.

The Lady Cougar’s record is now 2-6.
