The varsity basketball Lady Cougars lost on the road last Friday night to Franklin County with a final score of 71-58. The Cougars led at end the of the first quarter 20-11, 33-26 at the half, and 46-43 going into the fourth quarter. The Eagles outscored the Cougars 28-12 in the final quarter to win the game.
Both Izzy Beasley and Lindsey Marshall led the team in scoring with 12 points each. Sierra Hubbard added 10 points.
Head Coach Donny Rakes said it was “a tough night” for the Cougars, especially in the fourth quarter. The Eagles “wore us down” and “took it to us.”
The loss drops the Lady Cougars’ record to 17-3.
