Lady Cougars improve record to 15-2

The Patrick County High School Lady Cougar volleyball team had a tough night of it last Thursday when the Halifax Lady Comets came to the Cougar gym for the second meeting of the two teams. It took Patrick County five sets of play to defeat the Lady Comets. The scores were 25-23, 24-24, 25-13, 17-25 and 15-11.
Abby Hutchens had 16 kills, 20 digs and five aces. Morgan Biggs had seven kills, two blocks and five aces while Melanie Roberson had 26 assists, and Hannah Hylton had six kills and five blocks.
Last Tuesday, the Lady Cougars traveled to George Washington of Danville and won in three sets. The scores were 25-19, 25-5 and 25-10.
Abby Hutchens had nine kills while Melanie Roberson had 15 assists and six aces. Sydney Biggs and Izzy Beasley had six kills each. Sydney Kirk added 12 assists and two aces
The next game is at home on Thursday against Halifax; they will host Franklin County Thursday night.
In junior varsity action, the Lady Cougars defeated Halifax in three sets: 25-14, 21-25 and 15-11.
Ashlee Mesot had six aces, and Taylor Vernon had 10 assists. Elizabeth Huerta had eight digs and Sara Cain had seven kills.vball-sydnee-biggs-kills vball-melanie-hanna-hylton vball-front-line-blocks
