The Lady Cougar Softball team lost the first round of the Piedmont District Tournament 12 to 8 when they played Franklin County at home on May 14.
The Lady Cougars collected 13 hits at the plate. They were led by Erin Keith who went 3-4 with a solo home run, two singles, and four RBIs.
Danielle King also went 3-4 with an RBI. Kansas Cutchins went 2-4 with an RBI double while Montana Moorefield and Abigail Epperson were both 2-4 in the box.
Abigail Epperson took the loss in the circle, striking out four, walking five, and allowing 11 hits.
The Lady Cougars traveled Lord Botetourt on Thursday for the first round in the 3A Region tournament.
