The Patrick County Lady Cougar soccer team hosted Tunstall last Tuesday and lost to the Lady Trojans 0-6. Wednesday, they lost to Martinsville 0-2.
“In Tuesday’s game, we were able to get off several good shots but just weren’t able to get them in the goal. The Lady Trojans were able to catch us out of position on a couple of shots, and we weren’t able to recover quickly enough,” said Coach Sandra Rakes.
In Wednesday’s game, the Lady Cougar defense did a great job of keeping the Lady Bulldogs away from the goal. “They got off several shots, but we were able to keep pressure on them so that a lot of their shots went over or wide of the goal,” Rakes said.
“Our goalie did a good job stopping the shots that made it through the defense. The midfield worked well with our players up front moving the ball up field,” she added.
