The Patrick County Varsity Girls basketball team cruised past the visiting Chatham team 77-50 last Monday. The Cougars were in complete control of the game, jumping to a 28-11 lead in the 1st quarter, and by halftime led by 27 points.
The Lady Cougars’ victory was an overall team effort led by Hannah Roberson who had a team high 22 points including two 3-pointers.
Three other Cougars also scored in double figures — Serra Hubbard had 17 points as well as 13 rebounds; Izzy Beasley had 12 points and 6 assists; and Lindsey Marshall added 11 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds.
Head Coach Donny Rakes said that the team “played very fast.” He added that he was “proud of team’s intensity and overall effort.”
The victory made the Lady Cougars 3-0 on the season.
