Lady Cougars start volleyball season strong

The Lady Cougar Varsity Volleyball Team opened up the season at home March 2, hosting the Lady Eagles of GW Danville.  

The Cougars won in three sets 25-8, 25-4, and 25-8.  Keely Belcher had 7 kills and Suzanne Gonzalez had 6 kills. Lainie Hopkins had 22 assists and 5 aces. Lauren Largen had 9 aces.  

The Cougars hosted the Lady Warriors of Magna Vista on March 9, and prevailed in three sets, 26-24, 25-20, and 26-24. Lauren Largen led PC with 11 kills. Suzanne Gonzalez had 10 kills, 14 digs, and 2 aces. Julianna Overby had 23 assists and 5 aces, and Mackenzie Belcher had 12 digs, 2 assists, and 1 ace. 

On March 11, Patrick County traveled to Magna Vista, and won in four sets 28-26, 25-21, 25-27, and 25-22. Suzanne Gonzalez had 20 kills, 3 blocks, and 23 digs. Lainie Hopkins had 24 assists, 6 digs, and 2 kills.  Mackenzie Belcher had 24 digs and 8 aces, while Lauren Largen had 7 kills, 9 digs, and 3 aces.  

The Varsity Lady Cougars are 3-0 on the season. 

The JV Cougars defeated the JV Lady Warriors at home on March 9 in two sets 25-13 & 25-22. Kaylee Towler led the Lady Cougars with 7 kills, 4 aces, and 3 digs. Madi Heath had 5 kills. Marissa Bentley had 3 kills and 2 aces. Bryley Pike had 6 digs, and Lilly Byers earned 14 assists for the match.
