The Patrick County Girls travelled to Martinsville on January 26 cruising to a 66-36 win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Aniya Penn had a big night, with 17 points on the board, seven rebounds, eight steals, and two assists.
Allanah Mitchell had 13 points, four rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
Marissa Brown had nine points, 11 rebounds, and three steals.
“It was a really good team win. We are really starting to buy into defense. Just a really solid defensive effort as 24 steals that resulted in a lot of easy buckets on the other end.” Coach Donny Rakes said. “We hit the boards really well, and won a lot of 50/50 balls. Abigail Epperson and Marissa Brown really had big nights with 15 and 11 rebounds respectively. I was really proud of our young team for stepping up when Missy Hazard went down with an injury in the 1st quarter. It was a really good team effort.”
