The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded Tri-Area Community Health, based in Laurel Fork, a $3,279,104 grant to support operations of local health centers.
“Access to local health care centers benefits rural communities in Virginia’s Ninth District,” U.S. Rep. Morgan Griffith, R-Salem, said in a statement. “This HHS grant for more than $3.2 million helps this community health care center deliver health care access in Virginia’s Ninth District.”
Tri-Area Community Health administers services at locations in Laurel Fork, Ferrum, Floyd, Fries, Galax, Troutdale, Hillsville and Cana.
As a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Griffith serves as the Chairman of the Health Subcommittee.
