obit quesenberryLawrence Elmer Quesenberry Sr., age 71, of Meadows of Dan, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 20, 2016.
He was born in Floyd on May 20, 1945, and was a son of the late Parker Davis Quesenberry and Mary DeHart Quesenberry. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Odell Quesenberry and Ronnie Quesenberry.
Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Wanda Turner Quesenberry of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence Elmer Quesenberry Jr. and Becky of Woolwine; one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Nester and Donnie of Hillsville; three granddaughters, Ash Leigh Bowman, Asia Laree Bowman, and Lindsey Allyn Quesenberry; one great-granddaughter, Emmalynn Mae Nester; one stepgrandson, Austin Beaver; two brothers and a sister-in-law, James G. Quesenberry of Meadows of Dan, and Billy R. Quesenberry and Ann of Patrick Springs; one sister, Ruth Wingfield; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Sunday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Joe Young officiating. Burial was in the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church cemetery. Military rites were provided by Patrick County Veterans’ Memorial Honor Guard.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 18981 Jeb Stuart Hwy., Stuart, Va., 24171.
