The December blood drive is scheduled for Tuesday, December 11, at 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the John D. Hooker Building at Rotary Field.

We welcome all donors; those who will give for the first time and dedicated donors who have given before, with or without appointments.

The American Red Cross recommends donors maintain an iron-rich diet, get a good night’s sleep, and drink an extra 8 ounces of water before donating.

After you give blood, the American Red Cross suggests all donors drink an extra 4, 8-ounce glasses of liquids, avoid alcohol in the next 24 hours and do not do any heavy lifting or vigorous exercise for the rest of the day.

Wren and Britt Williams of Schneider and Williams, Attorneys at Law, a first time Red Cross sponsor, are sponsoring this month’s blood drive.

If you are interested in becoming a Blood Drive volunteer, please stop by Rotary Field during the blood drive or call (276) 694-0272.

Giving back to your community by volunteering can be a very rewarding experience. Thanks to our volunteers for being there for all donors.

The need is constant. A patient needs blood every two seconds in the United States.
The American Red Cross could not help as many people as they do without your generous donations.

The volunteers will be preparing a Christmas luncheon for all donors during this month’s blood drive. We encourage all donors to stop by to celebrate Christmas with us. It is our way of saying, thanks Patrick County for “giving the gift of life” to so many.
Gene Stirewalt, coordinator
