Thank you so much for printing the article about George Rigney’s death in October 2 edition of The Enterprise. It gave great details about his last eight years of life as well as his past as a teacher at Patrick County high School. He was a much loved teacher, colleague, friend, and family member.
Thank you also for announcing his memorial service, which was held at the Patrick County High School auditorium on Sunday afternoon. It was well attended, and many memories were shared by friends and former colleagues. The words were so appreciated by all who loved Mr. Rigney.
Those attending the service also gave generously to the George D. Rigney Scholarship Fund. If anyone who was unable to attend the service would like to contribute, checks can be made out to the George D. Riogney Scholarship Fund and mailed to the Carter Bank at 125 E Blue Ridge Road, Stuart, VA 24171. All monies will be receipted for tax purposes.
