I’m hoping everyone in the Smith River District will support my friend Crystal Harris for Supervisor. I’ve known Crystal for over 60 years when she was dating her husband Mavin and he and I were Co-Captains of Woolwine High’s State Runner-Up Basketball team in 1963. She has always worked hard helping the community with the Smith River Rescue Squad for about 40 years and captain 20 years. She was the first female president of the Patrick County Fire and Rescue, served on the original E-911 committee and is a former member of the Patrick County Education Foundation. Besides all these other leadership qualities she was also head of the cafeteria at Woolwine Elementary for 35 years, fixing good food for the kids and also served part time at the hospital emergency room. On top of that she served on the STEP Inc Board for 20 years. I can’t think of anyone that has served our communities more than Crystal.
I think I still owe her a new pair of tennis shoes when she brought the ambulance to our log yard one rainy day to check on a log hauler and she walked through the mud with new tennis shoes ruining them. I know I owed her a new pair but not sure if I ever got them for her.
She has also been a great Supervisor for 21 years and has been Chairperson a few times, always working good for the Smith River District. I just don’t think you could get a smarter, more knowledgeable about Supervising Patrick County and a more dedicated person. Please vote for Crystal Harris for Smith River Supervisor, you will be glad you did.
