obit Clark, Linda NowlinLinda Nowlin Clark, age 65, of Martinsville, was set free from the need to flee from or flight against our own mortality on Monday, July 25, 2016 at her home.
We are able to live the present precious moments to the fullest. Tomorrow, the future and our own eternal destiny, all lie in God’s hands.
She was born in Patrick County on September 5, 1950 to the late Charlie Edward and Lillie Laura Penn Nowlin. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Dale Clark; an infant sister, Penny Oneal Nowlin; and two brothers, Rev. James “Dobbie” Nowlin and Douglas Nowlin.
Linda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She started her spiritual journey as a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and after moving to Martinsville, made her home at Shiloh Baptist Church in Fieldale under the guidance of Rev. Benny Redd.
She had worked for Fieldcrest Mills for seven years and United Elastic for 31 years. She was outgoing and loved helping people. She would do anything she could to help someone who was down, regardless of who or where they were.
Linda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Willie W. Clark Jr. of the home; four sisters, Stella Hairston and husband James of Eden, N.C.; and Janice Nowlin and Sandra Nowlin, both of Patrick Springs; Ann Watlington and husband David of Belews Creek, N.C.; one brother, Leroy Nowlin of Patrick Springs; her mother-in-law, Edith Mae Clark of Stuart; four sisters-in-law, Louise Fuller of Patrick Springs, and Susan Clark, Vanessa Staples, and Barbara G. Nowlin, all of Stuart; a host of nieces and nephews; and caregivers, Sandra Gravely and Alisha Millner, both of Martinsville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with the Rev. Robert Hairston presiding. Burial will follow in Tatum Macedonia Church cemetery.
A wake will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of her sister, Janice Nowlin.
