Sandra Earles Eggleston, 50, died Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 26, 1966, and was preceded in death by her father, Walter “Nick” Earles; stepmother, Gail Earles; and stepfather, Robert Mize.
She was employed at MDCU, also known as Valleystar Credit Union, for 18 years before becoming disabled. She graduated from Drewry Mason High School in 1984 and received her associate’s degree from Patrick Henry Community College.
She is survived by her husband of 11-1/2 years, Brian Eggleston of Martinsville; her mother, Marion Cochran Mize of Martinsville; one sister, Deborah Earles Griggs of Martinsville; a stepsister, Rosa Lee Brown of Patrick Springs; stepbrothers, Robert Scott of Roanoke, and Mike Scott of Brosville; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews.
The funeral service was held Sunday at Norris Funeral Services with Minister Lee Ashley officiating. A private graveside service was held Monday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville, N.C.
The family wishes to thank Henry County Rescue Squad, Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, the CCU Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, and Mike and Cindy Benson of Martinsville for their heroic efforts during this difficult time.
