A total of four local seats will be on the ballot in the General Election on Nov. 7, according to a release from the Patrick County Registrar’s Office.

Two seats on the Board of Supervisors will be decided: The Dan River District, currently held by incumbent Roger Hayden; and the Smith River District, currently held by Crystal Harris, who is serving as board chairman this year.

The two districts on the Patrick County School Board also will be in the November contest. Kandy Burnett holds the Dan River District seat on the school board, and J.D. Morse holds the Smith River District seat.

The filing deadline is 7 p.m., June 13.

State offices on the November ballot include Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General and House of Delegate Representative for the 9th District, which includes Patrick County.

Del. Charles Poindexter, R-Glade Hill, is the incumbent.

Stephanie Cook, 30, of Sontag, has said she plans to seek the Democratic nomination to run for the post.

Justin Washer, 28, of Bassett , recently announced he will run as an independent.

Candidate packets are available at the registrar’s office, 106 Rucker St., in Stuart, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or can be downloaded at www.elections.virginia.gov.
