Lois Harris Overby, 96, of Lawsonville, N.C., passed away, Saturday, November 5, 2016, at her home.
The funeral service was held Tuesday at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Burial was at Peters Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
She was born May 31, 1920, in Patrick County and was a daughter of the late Sherman and Charlotte Hall Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burrell Franklin Overby; sons, Willie Douglas Overby and Frankie James Overby; a daughter, Shirley June Gilley; and three brothers and five sisters.
She was a long-time faithful member of Minnie’s Chapel Wesleyan Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, Perry Overby, Charles Overby, Larry Overby, Donnie Overby, Glenn Overby, and Barry Overby; daughters, Patsy Mullins, Brenda Kay Overby, Juanita Osborne, Phyllis Johnson, and Cynthia Hand; 27 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren .
Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030 or Alzheimer’s Association, C/o Sally Smith, Stuart, VA 24171.
Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
