Entrepreneurship is the American dream. Unfortunately, of the one million businesses started each year, most of them eventually fail. The one common theme may be a lack of planning.
The Longwood University Small Business Development Center will offer a workshop, “Building the Foundation for Your New Business,” to help provide information to business owners.
If you are considering the possibility of starting a business, this free seminar will provide information that may help that business be among the 20 percent that survive and thrive.
Prepare to start a successful business by evaluating your entrepreneurial abilities, marketing strategies, financial resources, legal form of organization, and receive tips to prepare and present your business plan.
The class will be presented on Tuesday, June 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Danville Community College, 1009 Bonner Ave., Taylor Building in Danville. There is no charge to attend. To register, visit www.sbdc-longwood.com or call (434) 395-2086.
The workshop is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
