M of D Elementary School 5k winners

Meadows of Dan Elementary School has announced the winners of the annual 5K race, which is held prior to the Meadows of Dan Folk Fair. This year’s race allowed runners the opportunity to run on the Blue Ridge Parkway. School officials congratulate the winners and thank everyone who came out to support and participate in the Meadows of Dan 5K and Fun Run. They also thank all the sponsors of the event. The overall male winners were: first place, Ethan Gilbert; second place: Jonas Eppson; third place: Mark Joyce; overall female winners: first place, Rachel Lowe; second place: Katie Brintle; and third place: Dee Dalton.race-winners-2

The top male and female runners, 19 and under, were Will Royall and Abby Royall; the top male and female, age 20-35 were Bo Royall and Leigh Royall; top male and female, 36-49 were Jason Wood and Rovanda Gilbert; and the top male and female, age 50 and over were Dough Hines and Jewel Phillips.
