Patrick County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Rob Coleman was recently presented the prestigious MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) Award for the fifth time in his career.
Sheriff Dan Smith said Coleman is an exemplary employee who leads by example.
“Rob is always challenged those he supervises to fulfill their highest potential,” Smith said, adding that Coleman “will not be outworked.”
Smith said that Coleman plays an integral role in the daily operations of the sheriff’s office, including supervising the patrol division, commanding the tactical response team, and instructing at the Piedmont Regional Criminal Justice Training Academy. Lt. Coleman’s 12 DUI arrests were the most by any enforcement officer in Patrick County last year.
Coleman is a 1998 graduate of Radford University. He began his law enforcement career in 1999 and had since completed multiple tactical and leadership training programs, including the legendary Carlos Hathcock Whitefeather Law Enforcement Marksman Program in 2001.
