Author Kristen-Paige Madonia will return to Martinsville to celebrate the release of her second novel, Invisible Fault Lines, with a reading, book discussion and reception at Piedmont Arts.
The event will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 6 p.m. at the museum, located at 215 Starling Ave., and is free and open to the public. Copies of Madonia’s books will be available for purchase.
Invisible Fault Lines, published by Simon & Schuster, is a young adult novel about a teenage girl desperately trying to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance.
Hailed by Judy Blume as a “remarkable young novelist,” Madonia was raised in Martinsville and often draws from her own childhood experiences when writing.
“I’m so looking forward to celebrating the publication with the community where my interest in storytelling and creative writing began,” said Madonia. “I’m greatly indebted to the support and encouragement I received from my teachers in Martinsville, and it’s an honor to come home and share the novel with my friends and family here.”
Madonia currently lives in Charlottesville with her husband and son. She teaches at James Madison University, University of Virginia and Goochland County High School.
